Biography

In addition to his work as a full-time arbitrator and mediator, Sterling Spainhour is currently Of Counsel with Sapronov & Associates, a law firm with offices in Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC.

Sterling has served as Special Counsel for Bank of America Corporation in Charlotte, NC. He has also served as Deputy General Counsel of Wells Fargo Corporation.

In addition, he has pursued an academic career and served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Wake Forest University School of Law where he taught Advanced Contract Drafting and Banking and Financial Institutions Law. He also served as Professor of Law at Charlotte School of Law. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and is a certified mediator for the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Committee. Sterling specializes in technology, employment, and commercial contract matters. He is also Managing Partner in the firm Carter, Branchcomb & August, LLC which specializes in alternative dispute resolution and legal consultation.
